So, what do you call, and how do we handle the individual(s)who planned, and helped to plan the death of 3,000 + individuals on 9/11, the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, the Bali nightclub bombings, and who knows how many more acts of terrorism?
Can you honestly sit there and tell me that when we have in custody a high profile leader such as K.S.M. who has intricate, first hand knowledge of a terrorist organization that we should not do all that we can to obtain as much information from this person as possible? I suppose your thinking (and those of many others here) is that he should have been given a trial by jury, sent to prison, and that we had no right to try and obtain information from him?

b) Has a grudge;
c) Has remorse about things that he has done and is trying to make amends.
So, you're going to dismiss the arguments of Matthew Alexander, but readily accept those of people who could be prosecuted for ordering acts of torture? I'd think that John Yoo, for example, would be much less trustworthy than Alexander in these cases.
BTW, if you guys haven't read Marc Thiessen's Courting Disaster, pick it up. He explains that waterboarding was not used to get answers to questions or confessions, but rather to break their will and spirit and get them to agree to start cooperating.

If you right-click iTunes in the Finder and choose "Show Package Contents", you will find graphic files in different sizes (cd, dvd jacket) for all the genres iTunes recognizes. I believe it is possible to add your own graphics/genres provided you follow the naming convention.

A couple of notes... the end user price of your iPhone is really driven by your carrier and what they are willing to subsidize. Also, it's very common in many industries to price things differently from country to country based on local markets. I know in our markets, we have some countries like India that we sell at about a 20% discount of the US, but in Europe, it's about 10% more expensive. Very common.
You also get a lot of people on here looking at the US Apple Store and seeing the iPhone 4 at $200 then checking their own store and seeing it priced around 500 Pounds or Euros.
They don't understand that the US price doesn't include sales tax and requires signing up for an expensive 2 year contract but their own price includes tax and is for a factory unlocked, contract-free phone.

OK, here's the setup: we have two Xserves, with XSan set up as a clustered mail server. The OS is 10.6 Server, fully up to date.
We're using this as a replacement for our dying mail server. Now, before I get too far into this, we do have a handful of mail users on a 10.5 Server... mostly our power users whose large mailboxes were an issue on the aging mail server.
So far I have two accounts set up on the Open Directory that the mail servers are using, me and my boss. We're receiving mail just fine (we've set our enterprise LDAP to deliver mail via SMTP to both the old and new servers for the two of us for now), and we can email each other.
But, if I attempt to use the new Mac mail cluster to send mail to anyone other than my boss, I get:
550 5.1.1 <first.last@mydomain.tld>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table
And yes, that's true, it's not defined in the local table, because it's an account we haven't migrated over yet. The expected and desired behavior is that it will take any email that it can't deliver locally and send it to the server defined in "Relay outgoing mail through host:".
I say expected, because this is exactly how our 10.5 server works. We can point out clients to it for outgoing mail, and what it can't deliver locally, it sends out to the mail relay, which gets it to where it's needed. And yes, I've compared the mail configuration screens of the 10.5 and the 10.6 box, and in every way (except where 10.6 brought a new option), they're identical (other than the host name).
Does anyone have an idea? This isn't just a transition issue; our domain is shared amongst dozens off offices with thousands of users, and only 200 of them will be on this server.

Yeah- this looks to be a bummer for us folks with iOS devices. Apple will have to devote a bunch of resources just to bring their own maps implementation to be as good as google's, the better version on android not withstanding. As someone else pointed out, apple will still need to get maps from somewhere, no matter how good their implementation.

Well you talk about fairness, I don't think its fair that your studies are funded by the government and mine are not, even though I will be working directly for the government in the very near future. And, its not fair to me that you may very well benefit directly from my work in several ways. For example, say you come to America for a holiday, and you are mugged. It would be my job to help get the guy responsible for your mugging and to be able to put you back to your position before you were mugged, at no cost to you because you are not an American citizen and don't pay taxes. So, I feel toat you owe me money because that would be fair. I know i'm making money as an attorney, but so is Loren on the many, many other projects he has going on for him. Its only fair that we are both compensated justly for everything we do, right? Just like you would want to be compensated by me if I came to your country and needed medical help, it would be nothing out of my pocket, and that doesn't seem fair to you personally doing something without just compensation.
My point is, each of us has our own lives to support, because really when it comes down to it, no one else is giving us a free ride...well except for you and thats not really fair. Well then to educate you, in America, no one gets a free ride. We're all for ourselves here, and then we have to pay taxes up the ass for the people on welfare who mooch off of the welfare system without really doing anything. No ones gonna help me with my law school loans even though the work I am doing will benefit many, many people. I will get a small government salary (criminal prosecutors do not make a lot of money at all, thats why so many attorneys try to go to private practices and big law firms, to make that 6 or 7 figure income). Does that seem fair? No.
Loren is gonna be ok, whether he had charged for Tweetie 2 or not. He has many other things going on, many other products, and he gets paid for those lectures he does. The guys who created youtube didn't charge people to access the videos hosted on their site for free, or charge people each time they updated their servers and software, yet they are rolling in the dough. In America, we thrive on customer satisfaction. I personally do not feel Loren did enough with Tweetie 1 in satisfying his customers before going ahead and charging full price for an "update." And his excuse that Apple didn't provide an upgrade path is a cop out. I read his tweet on the decision; he did it because he "had the balls to do it." He should at least go back to Tweetie 1 and upgrade that as much as possible until he can't anymore. He stated that he wanted to do things to Tweetie that were impossible to do without rewriting the app from scratch. Thats fine, but you can't leave your old customers out in the cold like he did. People paid for Tweetie 1 without knowing that Loren would be pulling this stunt off. Thats not fair to them, they deserve to be satisfied, they paid a fair amount and got ditched, bamboozled, baited and switched. I think the keynote was a bust. Waaaaaaaaayyyy to much time spent on the frickin' iPhone, and I'm the perfect demographic for it. My iPod 4Gen just died, and my Samsung Cingular cell is on the fritz, but there is no way in hell I'm paying $600 for a nano/phone combo. 8gig is not enough space, especially when you start putting any video content on there. Thanks Steve, I'll pass...:confused:

I wonder if video streaming to the phone might be announced before the product hits the shelves. The PSP can stream movies via Sony's LocationFree player. Maybe the Apple Phone will stream via a Slingbox or Apple Movie and they won't announce the functionality until later. Otherwise, I can't understand why they'd release a wide screen iPod without the storage space to hold movies.

That's only 1,258,291.2 gigabytes ... If each customer gets, say, 500 megabytes allocated, that's enough for 2,516,582 customers.

I still need to call LAN lines for work and A-list for FamilyTalk is now available on the Nation 700 plan. I switched today by calling ATT but online they are not letting it go through yet. They said this will work online soon, but calling 611 they are setting it up today for me. Went from $89.99 to $69.99, saving $20 per month and keeping my A-list!
I checked online, and it says you need FamilyTalk 1400 � 2100 plans for A-List. Guess it's not updated yet?
