That is helpful for syncing with itunes - but what about ical/outlook? Can I get outlook to sync with my 7 different calendars on ical?

Here's my idea:
Hook up that chip, and then just keep overclocking the thing... you don't have to worry about it overheating and melting, it'll just give you more battery life.
It could go infinitely fast for infinitely long!
There's probably something in there about conduction and efficiency and stuff, but I'll leave that to the engineers

The last time I had surgery (January 2, 1986) I was knocked out via IV.
As for what it felt like...
They had put the IV in before I had gone into surgery, and it really wasn't that bad. When the doctor and his assistant showed up the anesthesiologist let me know that it was time.
He ask me to start counting backwards from 100. I felt a warm sensation moving up my arm from the IV and then into my chest. A moment later I felt like I was walking out of a fog... but I wasn't, I was lying in recovery... and I got sick.
It took a few minutes to finally become completely cognizant of my surroundings, but all and all it wasn't a bad experience. The time for the surgery was completely gone (as if it hadn't happened). It felt like (going from fully awake before the surgery back to fully awake again after) it had only taken a couple minutes (the surgery was about 4 hours as I recall).

Apple is right to sue IMO, what does the Pod in Podcasting refer to? The iPod of course!
If not for the iPod, Podcasting would have no meaning.
Unfortunately, I don't think that this type of extension is really defensible. There must be limits on what Apple can trademark and control with reference to the word 'pod'. What about the website 'podshow'? Should they be allowed to register? Extending the reach of the iPod brand into regions that are phonetically the same i.e. myPodder, is troubling to me, but less so than iPodder, for example. Defending the "brand name" iPod is a completely different issue from preventing other uses of the word "pod" in the digital media sphere.

When I check for updates in outlook it tells me 'no updates available' ... oh well, downloading it now directly from the webpage linked in the article.Perhaps it doesn't detect the update unless you use Outlook. Some MS Office users, like me, don't even install Outlook, and Check for Updates didn't show it for me either.
Moving from Outlook is a good think no matter what. The databases used stinks. It chokes at about a million records and sooner or later, it will slow down, become lazy and before you know it... done. Corrupted... just like a US politician. :D
I find that it corrupts the database when it reaches 2GB in storage, no matter how many messages are involved.

Backlit keyboard. It wouldn't be so much of a big deal if they didn't have it to begin with, then they removed that option. If they bring it back, I'll get rid of my MBP and go back to an Air.

Yeah a whopping 3V which means it will take 40% longer to recharge anything using the new connector unless they increase the amperage to compensate.
I assumed that Acc 3v meant power to the Accessory plugged in to the port. The iDevice itself would still charge from power on the data connection.

To be fair, Justin Long's name was known before the Apple ads. As well as John Hodgman's. Justin for Dodgeball, and John for his stints on the Daily Show.
Those two actor's names are only known in America, I'm sure Japanese have never heard of them (and probably don't care much either), Australians wouldn't know who they are.

But seriously though, it's not that much that is missing from .mac to make it worth the $99 without regrets.
Like:
- fully editable web calendar
- fully editable address book
- spam management
- more storage (2GB would be sufficient)
- make the Finder fast so iDisk is actually usable
- web editable blog synched back to iWeb
- possibility to show subscribed iCals in web interface without having to visit their site
- integrate stickies into .mac and synch them
With those things, that would be fairly easy to do I don't think a lot of people would complain anymore.
And it's not really something completely new, just evolution of the existing.

I tried the new .macmail on my G3/500 iMac this morning, and surprise, surprise, it was horribly slow. At this this morning on my XP box in FF2.0, the UI cooks along nicely. The server updates are slower than I'd like.
Get the calendar fully integrated online and I'd probably use my .mac email more than my gmail account.
OFFTOPIC: Firefox 2.0 has a new feature of spell checking what you are typing in any web window! This makes up for .mac's lack of on the fly spell checking which is great for me at work in the XP world.

Huh?! I didn't think I got defensive over Android. I don't know how just stating Android was difficult to use translates to "I am defensive and fearful over Android".
I just stated Android was difficult to use. That's similar to saying I like eating icecream out of the box rather than taking my time putting it in a bowl or a cone and then eating it. See what I'm saying? Now, some people may like the latter way but I much prefer iPhone's navigation, iPhone browser, and the App Store to Android. That said, I do like a lot of the Android features, especially the notification bar that just amazed me.
