No. Apple has an application called Aperture. Many DSLR cameras for professional users (for example the press) use SD cards to save the picture data. HD camcorders use also SD cards to save the video data.
You obviously do not know the SD card market. Cheap and fast SD cards with a capacity of 1 GB (a CD holds 0.7 GB or 700 MB) are now available for 3 to 5 years. The reasons why most people do not use these for the data exchange are that USB flash drives are much cheaper, more robust and nearly every computer has a USB port.

And here people were hoping something would come along and topple the iPod. I had to check the Zune out for myself, it's basically dull-finished 1st Gen iPod clone. And now with iPod friendly skies, the bastardized iTurd will have very rough waters venture through. Go Apple. :D

Steve is an evangelist. Of course he was doing the talking, was talking too loud, and was doing the persuading.
All he wants from Google is to not be adverse to his goals.
His goals are both specific and fuzzy.
Steve is skinny. The turtleneck and the crossed legs are warming techniques. My son is skinny and he does the same thing. He needs to fly rockets at DeAnza College like Steve has. I opt for Steve to invite him.
Steve made a PUBLIC comment about Google about the "don't be evil" thing. Whatever they are talking about you can be sure it is Steve holding him to the fire on that promise.
You what the best part of that photo is? Both these guys felt like it was fine for them to sit outside a place and chat to begin with. That is the sort of CEO I want running a corporation.

I remember having something my brother threw in my nose removed [damn little brother...] I screamed whenever the doctor came near me... The only way for them to remove it is to put me out... I remember one doctor held my head [since I was scared of needle too] and one inserting the needle... I could feel the liquid... then i looked at the light bulb and thought "there's a spot on the..." waking up is tiring indeed... you just feel so heavy, all you want to do is go back to sleep...

I do wish people in this forum stop referring to 'the military' as though they were some sort of alien life-forms. 'The military' are people, and even if you happen to be in the oh-so-unique moral high ground of opposing war and violence from your comfortable desk, soldiers deserve the best kit we can afford to give them. I've followed the computer industry for 26+ years.. I remember a time when Apples marketshare was thru the roof. I also remember a company called Commodore that is still the best selling personal computer of all time.
I know a whole lot more people who would be more inclined to buy a Mac if they could run their favorite app, or the latest game under MacOSX.
That sort of thing can only come with market share.
The switch to Intel can go one of two ways.. it could get Macs in peoples hands, who grow to prefer the OSXperience and abandon Windows all together.. or it could end up being an Alienware kind of computer that people buy as a status symbol, but run Windows on it.
Heck, you may start to see software developers abandon their Mac divisions all together.. figuring that since most Intel Mac users have Windows installed, they can just write ONE version of their software and cover all bases.
Growth and increased market share is good for Apple, and good for their customers.
There is a long list of hardware companies that gave up their propriatary designs and archetecture and adopted the 'x86' that you don't hear much of anymore.
What seperates Apple from those companies is their totally rockin' OS.. but an OS is only as good as the software that's available for it.
I tell ya what i'd really like to see.. the ability to run XP apps from within OSX.. sort of like Wine.. in an easy to use and configure setup.

Huh! Could be interesting so long as only Apple's devices are the hosts and not other devices like Android etc. That would follow the model they are using with AirPlay for audio, so it might make sense.
If that happens though and it is baked into TVs then it almost negates the reason to get an Apple TV box. Maybe this is when Apple would introduce a full on TV set with everything integrated! :D

In a LOT of people's mind, it's broken until they put support for Exchange 2003/WebDAV back in.
Why would they do that? Support for Exchange 2003 is going away. Microsoft gave a roadmap 5 years ago which showed companies when to start planning Exchange upgrades.

These days much of the craftsmanship that used to take place in the darkroom coaxing a master print from a negative now takes place digitally. A technically well exposed frame can still produce a crappy print at the end of a less skilled artist. Conversely, technical perfection (second curtain sync, hyperfocal distancing gobbledygook) has very little to do with art, or even creativity. Great "art" these days is even being shot on a cellphone.
Both camps (the technical-crats & the ones who are blissfully unaware of the minutiae) can produce "great" work.
Many beginners suffer from the same bad pshop skills (hey, look... I can make grass grow on his head, no make that two heads) and mistakes that beginning designers can (hey look, I can make EACH letter a different color, and a different font).
All that being said, if I was teaching beginning photographers I would remove almost everything to start (camera, lens, etc.) and go primitive and start with building pinhole cameras. Then I would progress to the end point which would be post-processing. Post-processing is huge though...

When I showed up for my first classes, some of the other students had Hasselbad cameras. Forgetting about gear forced us to think about the frame and what was going on in there.
