Hi, Guys,
My attorney just emailed me a list of items he needs from me for filing 485. The list is surprisingly short. Is this package really sufficient?

4. Copy of her current visa
5. Copies of other US visas you have had

8. Six (6) passport photos

Just like *ranga*, *billa* also has a story.
billa went to Texas A and M for his Mechanical Engineering and then moved into a lucrative job at a world famous oil company in Houston. His company has offered him a permanant job and offered to do his Green Card. But they don't know he will be leaving his job to go to Dubai because of Green Card logjam and uncertaainity that prevails.
Lets help to keep Billa and Ranga in the US. Lets all go to the rally

The best course is file I-140 for EB3... after you get it... file for EB2 I-140 and use PD from EB3... It's possible and worth every effort.
Absolutely possible and I have done it too. Please talk to your lawyer directly as he can advise you better.

Does not mean to say this in any disrespectful way but the analogy I can draw for Ombudsman and Gautam is –

They do it only to include these problems in their year end report. The objective is to document and show that ombudsman is doing what they are supposed to do i.e. document problems for the YEAR END REPORT.

One of my friends got B1 Visa(business visa, it�s valid for 10 years) through a company AAA in January 2008, still he is working for the same company in India, till now he didn't use his B1.
He applied H1-B through a company BBB, recently he received all his H1-B documents, his H1-B company suggested him to come to U.S on B1 and they want to file an amendment to change his status to H1 after coming to US.
My friend want to resign the company in this month and he want to go for training after resigning his job, it will take 2 months for completing the training.
He is planning to come to U.S in February 2009 on B1.
Could any one please help us with your valuable suggestions for the following questions?
Is it possible to come to U.S on B1 even after resigning the job?
Is there any possibility that the company revoke his B1?
What are the documents required to come to U.S on B1?

actually our situation is similar to a bunch of people sitting under a mango tree ..the green mangoes on the tree represent the green card.
those waiting for the mango are standing on a uncertain muddy ground and few will sink in the sand (due to job losses).
we have some robbers (labor substitutions) who climb the tree, steal the mangoes and run away.
the natives (only the anti-immigrants) want to cut down the tree so that no immigrant gets a mango
a majority or us who are waiting patiently are the law abiding ...but we wait for the mango to fall on our head rather than doing something to make the mango fall ..while waiting we fight and discuss silly issues (whether we should buy a house - how to get our maid on visa :)).
some of us while our status was on quick sand - went ahead and built a house thinking that GC would follow
now if only all of us were to come up with an effective plan and shake the tree or throw tons of stones on the tree ..then maybe everyone would get a mango sooner.

I said it may be and so it is better to check with attorney. There is nothing wrong in checking with attorney so that he can clarify the doubts.
That is so wrong, you are linking this to the criminal database?
SO as soon as the finger printing is done, within a fraction of a second, they match your fingerprints to the criminals and even let you know that by displaying a Red sign. Cant believe a Senior member can come up with such an explanation.
Leos link has the answer, the red Not match found error is simply an error between your finger prints taken together and then done individually.
The Service rep also individually goes thru all the FPs to check if the FPs taken together match those done individually.

my brother got recently married and his wife went to stamping in kolkata and they gave 221g for h4 and 2 days later they even cancelled my brothers exiting stamped H1 and his visa.he is in IT industry

Does anybody know if Egyptians also have a backlog. Does that also mean that an egyptian with a later priority date can be accepted before an Indian because of the quotas. We need a change in the immigration system. I filed my I-485 in July w no receipt yet. Does that mean I can also expect a long wait.

As Franklin, rightly points out EB3 ROW has been retrogressed for many years and there is a high probability of that being the case for October visa bulletin.
Also, even after applying for I-485, people get stuck in FBI name check for years. Per the latest USCIS Ombudsman report and follow-up information, there are more than 200K people stuck in FBI name check alone.
So please don't take things for granted once you are able to file for I-485. Make us stronger and make your chances of securing a GC sooner by joining IV and asking lawmakers to reform the immigration system for law abiding legal immigrants. Come to the rally in DC, if you can't afford the ticket let me know. I promise to share some anecdotes about my stay in Egypt, Amr Diab music etc with you. My favorite was "Noor El Ain" Probably you would be able to fill me in with some newer hits.

Take duplicate copies of the form. Take your and spouse passports with one copy each. Both you and your spouse needs to sign the form. CGI Houston does not takes the Check so carry the cash.

3 year h1 extension requires I140 to be approved plus non-current priority dates. You can get a copy of the approval from your attorney

First of all this has got nothing to do with with your immigration issue. Next, the Iranian President has said that Israel should not exist and even denied the holocaust. With their nuclear program underway and talks going on, it was being thought that a more moderate leader will come to helm. Apparently it is now being believed that the elections were rigged. With a moderate leader, it is quite possible that talks may begin and an imminent Israel-Iran war be averted. How can 11 million votes be rigged? If they are counted fast in a few hours, yes they can be rigged.
Every country has issues that their population follows. Its no different than any issue that is followed in Indian media. When one issue dies down, another is brought in forefront. Why are you even surprised?
Well, If Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is referring to genocide then he needs to be condemned and if people have chosen him then there needs to be international pressure on iran to change its policies. However, this election is about choice by Iranian people and their genuine will should be respected. Everyone knows that west hates current dispensation in Iran but best thing to do is not to poke nose in other's affairs. This is something west does often and world despises.
The truth will ultimately come out. But is best left to Iranian people. The moment west sniffs an opening they are all for regime change where they dont like regime. They havent leanrt to live with and respect choices of people where it does not match their agenda.
Past elections have been rigged in India , US , everywhere, so there is nothing new in this. Those who have the power will want to retain it.
